Cargo survey

Cargo operation supervision

Our groupe of former maritime officers and cargo handling experts can assist clients with cargo operational supervision and load master tasks. Our expertise ranges from loading and discharging of dry bulk and raw material, to tanker, ship-to-ship transfer and terminal operations

Quantity and Quality Survey

Cargo quality and quantity inspections consitute one of the core segments of our company. We have a long history in handling a large variety of cargoes, ranging from grains, agri products and bulk raw materials, to liquid bulk cargoes such as petroleum products, vegetable oils and chemicals

Draft Survey

With a group of highly professional and specifically trained surveyors, we are ready to serve our client´s and the industry´s requirements to accurate weight determination by draft survey

Loading & Lashing

Our surveyors and cargo handling experts operate together with the ship’s crew and other involved parties, ensuring safe, non-damaging loading and seaworthy securing of all cargo. We use industry recognized software and calculation methods to plan, conduct and verify loading, stowage and lashing operations.

Pre-Shipment & Export Survey

NMCS carries out export and pre-shipment related inspections of goods on behalf of local and overseas clients. We have a dedicated group of surveyors specifically trained and certified for export related inspections.

Marine and Technical

Vessel Condition Survey

We performe condition surveys for a wide range of clients and applications. This includes everything from a general on/off-hire survey, to more extensive surveys of vessel’s hull, machinery, equipment and certification.

Warranty Survey

NMCS conducts Marine Warranty Surveys to meet the requirements of an insurer as specified in a warranty clause. This covers verification by a qualified warranty surveyor to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to avoid loss during marine operations.

Bunker Survey

We have an experienced staff of bunker surveyors who conduct quantity measurements in order to state the amount of marine fuel oils onboard at a certain stage. A detailed measurement report and a bunker quantity certificate will be issued to confirm the found quantities.

Hull & Machinery

This segment covers damage to ship’s hull, machinery, construction parts, piers and harbour constructions, such as cranes, conveyor belts etc. It is understood that these damages can involve vast claims, not only for the actual damage and repairs, but also consequential damages.

Gas Measurement

We perform measurement of various flammable and toxic gasses and issue required gas free certificates in connection with tanker operations and enclosed space entry. Our services also include supervision and gas measurements in connection with fumigation and ventilation procedures of dry bulk cargoes.

MARPOL Annex II Inspections

NMCS is approved by the NMA (Norwegian Maritime Authorities) to conduct inspections and control procedures under MARPOL Annex II. This includes verification and supervision of prewash procedures, approval of prewash exemption applications and official endorsement of the vessel’s Cargo Record Book.

How to arrange survey

Ultrasonic Leakage Testing

We have dedicated surveyors trained and qualified as operators of ultrasonic testing equipment who carry out tightness inspections of hatch covers in line with IACS requirements for class service suppliers. We use high-end, type approved test equipment.

Thermographic photography

We provide thermographic photography services and have experienced engineers and high quality equipment available for infrared thermography of all types of innstallations.

Insurance & Claims

Claims Handling

Our claims department consists of educated and experienced professionals who are dealing with assessment of insurance coverage, recovery against third parties and generally full claims handling (Third Party Administration)
